Start a new game. Play until you get to the Beach outside the Citadel. Start a new game. Repeat thre process. You should start off at the third time you start a new game, you should appear at the end of the Stronghold level, right outside the entrance to the Beach. You will not have any stuff you collected if you did go Stronghold.
